I’m past the age where anyone expects me to be learning new software. I’m doing it anyway.

Before this blog

For about fifteen years, making things was my job.

I studied advertising design in Seoul, then illustration in Pasadena. I spent most of my career as a designer and senior artist inside entertainment studios — the last stretch of it leading interface design for virtual reality.

Then I stepped away to raise my son.

I mention it only so you know where I’m standing when I write about AI. I’m not someone who discovered these tools last year. I spent fifteen years watching digital design change shape — print to screens, screens to virtual worlds. AI is the next turn in a road I’ve been walking a long time.

And I’ll be honest with you: some days it still overwhelms me. That’s exactly why I write the way I do.

Why I started Pearl of Grace Living

Because the best chapters of life aren’t always the early ones.

This blog is for women who look at how fast the world is moving and think — I’m not done yet. You still want to make beautiful things. Travel somewhere interesting. Raise your family with intention. Live a life that feels like yours.

You don’t need to become a tech person to do any of that. You just need someone to go first and tell you honestly how it went.

How I write here

One rule: I only write about things I’ve actually done.

Every project on this site is one I made with my own hands. Every restaurant, I ate at and paid for myself. Every AI tool, I used long enough to find where it breaks. When something didn’t work, I say so — the failed prints, the wasted fabric, the prompts that gave me nonsense for an hour.

I’d rather tell you the truth about a tool than sell you on it.
